Blended from the traditional Bordeaux varietals, including our own coveted grapes, the Chappellet Mountain Cuvee Proprietor’s Blend builds on our five decades of experience crafting great Napa County mountain-grown wines. Each component varietal in the cuvée contributes nuances that complement each other. The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure pleasure in a glass. Made for more near-term consumption, this is the wine to choose when you’re looking for vivid, mouthfilling fruit flavors.
This vintage offered fantastic growing conditions in Napa County. Significant rains in early March were followed by perfect weather during bloom and an excellent fruit set. Summer temperatures were also ideal. With no notable heat events, and no threat of rain, we were able to pick exactly when we wanted to, resulting in pristine, perfectly developed fruit with great balance and acidity.
The aromas are rich, ripe and enticing, with sweet fruit layers of plum, bing cherry and cassis, as well as notes of mocha, roasted coffee, cedar and baking spices, all supported by delicious hints of French oak. On the palate, this wine is supple and round, with balanced tannins, weighty texture and a smooth, mouthfilling structure. Though there are abundant ripe red and black fruit flavors, there is also an elegant complexity to this wine that comes from artful blending.

All wines have been carefully stored in a temperature control cellar at 55*.
