Emmolo is named after Winemaker, Jenny Wagner’s Italian maternal family and was founded in 1994 by her mother, Cheryl Emmolo. The family has a long-standing history in Napa Valley beginning with her Great-grandfather, Salvatore Emmolo who immigrated to the US in 1923 from Palermo, Sicily and purchased property in Rutherford, Napa Valley.  Her grandparents, Frank and Annie continue to live on the property planted in Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. Emmolo wines are produced from grapes grown in four family vineyards located in Napa Valley microclimates, strategically planted to Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. The Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant and refined style that is subtle and balanced, with minerality and bright natural acidity and the Merlot is well-balanced with superbly rich fruit, soft tannins and dark color.
Light and soft-bodied, the vintage offers a firm acidity balanced with a stark, steely flavor. Aromas are fresh and clean, evoking the scent of early morning after a first rain, with a hint of honeysuckle and underlying notes of tangerine and wet stone. The wine enters the palate with a crisp yet soft quality, flowing into flavors of flower blossom and ending with a mouthwatering finish of fresh-squeezed grapefruit. A long-lasting, zesty minerality leaves the sensation of both subtlety and brightness
A luminous pale gold, this wine opens on the nose with freshness of a first summer rain, layered with scents of white peach and a hint of guava. The palate features a lively acidity balanced by delicate fruit flavors of peach and newly ripened honeydew. A tartness builds, softened by a smooth texture that lingers in the mouth. The mouth-watering finish is unusually bright and crisp.
