The parcels of wine in the The Maitre D’ come from the McLaren Vale grapes from the red soils of our Coppermine Rd block and from our Long Gully Rd block. They give richness and substance. We blended them with the exquisite fragrant Cabernet we made from Darren and Belinda Joppich’s block in Langhorne Creek.  Rich, round and complex, this wine is simply awesome. The Maitre D' has an enticing perfumed nose of blackberry, plum, cigar box and a touch of cinnamon. Overwhelming flavors of blackcurrant and dark cherry carry forward, accompanied by mouth filling layers of mocha, spice and vanilla.
Distinctly Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Maitre D’ has a firm structure but an amazing array of flavours. Rich, generous and complex the wine has the full spectrum of flavours going from cherry to plum to chocolate and finishing with mint and coffee. Dense fruit and fine tannins create intensity while the mouth-feel has a creaminess that adds to the texture and another level of sophistication to this great wine.
Dark, dense and mildly chewy, bursting with black coffee–accented blackberry and black cherry flavors, persisting on the expressive, ripe finish.
