Description

This beautiful wine features fruit from an array of exceptional Sonoma Coast winegrowing sites, including vineyards in Green Valley, Sonoma Valley and the Russian River Valley. Some of the appellation’s most distinguished viticulturists and vineyard owners provide fruit for this complex blend, including the Dutton Brothers, the Martinelli family, Charlie Chenoweth, Steve Hill, Bill Price and Mark Sanchietti.
The 2014 growing season produced exceptional Pinot Noirs throughout the Sonoma Coast and beyond. Like many of our 2014s, our SONOMA COAST PINOT NOIR displays lush red fruit, with lovely spice and sassafras notes. Though already precociously inviting, it possesses the ample structure, acidity and tannins to age beautifully. On the nose, aromas of cherry, raspberry and plum mingle with notes of cedar, tobacco, smoked meat, fine herbs and forest floor. The mouthfeel
is rich and fleshy, offering flavors of black cherry, raspberry, brown sugar and cardamom. Fresh, enlivening acidity from the relatively cool growing season balances this wine’s weight, and leads to a long, satisfying finish.
To craft our Patz & Hall SONOMA COAST PINOT NOIR, we source grapes from a number of California’s most distinguished winegrowing families. The Dutton family provides us with fruit from several of their small vineyard sites. Charlie Chenoweth, Lee Martinelli, Mark Sanchietti, and Steve Hill also contribute superb quality fruit to this complex blend of vineyard sites and clones. The blend also features a core of fruit from Bill Price’s Gap’s Crown Vineyard, one of the Sonoma Coast’s great emerging sites. In addition, to achieve our goal of producing a Pinot Noir that embodies the depth, structure and vibrant fruit flavors of the Sonoma Coast, we continually seek out new single-vineyard caliber Pinot Noir sites to add to this delicious cuvée.

All wines have been carefully stored in a temperature control cellar at 55*.

We ship in styro-foam containers, for the most secure delivery possible.
Please understand that during the summer months, the shipping insurance does not cover heat damage incurred during shipping. We only ship on a Monday and Tuesday to limit the length of time that the wine is on the truck.
