I AM NOT SELLING A KIT NOR A MODEL,
only two sizes of
PLANS
&
construction articles
to build a UC scale model of the
WEE BEE
---world's smallest plane.
In 1948 the
WEE BEE
was the smallest flying airplane ever built. You can see that the plane required the pilot, with a parachute on his back, to lie prone on top. He would then stick his hands through the wings to the control stick and push on the rudder pedals, which were at the rear on top.
The Voice of Reason
: Pop, having flown 26 different types of aircraft, while wearing a parachute in a number of them just in case the engine quit, said he would never have gotten on board this plane! It was so light that the test pilot could lift it and re-position it into the wind. The engine probably came from a World War II target drone.
This
WEE BEE
is the only model plan ever done of this unique full-scale plane--- which was destroyed in a museum fire soon after it flew successfully. This UC scale plan has a 22" span and called for a K & B .02. That wasn't much power back then. It has sheet balsa covered wings, so a nice Cox Pee Wee .020 would do well today. So, use a
PEE WEE
in your
WEE BEE
!
